Obama resigns, will miss key votes

By: Scott Hellman
This article is about how our new president Barack Obama is resigning from being the the senate. Since he is resigning from being a part of the senate, he cannot vote to pass a new economic stimulus package to recharge the ailing economy. I think that if they pass this new economies stimulus package to recharge the ailing economy that would be better for the world because we really need to do something about this problem. When I read this article I was wondering why Barack didn’t just wait another week or two to resign, that way he could vote. I know that even thought he is just one person; his vote still has an effect on changing the future. But I guess to be the president you have to sacrifice many things. After reading this article I really learned a lot out of it. This article really made me think. It made me think about how much Barack Obama is sacrificing just to try and help us out. Instead of going to watch a football game or a basketball game, he chooses to do what he can for our country. Even thought I don’t know the president I still appreciate him for taking that chance to help this country out.

MCCAIN: TRYING TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT

By Domenico Montanaro
This article is about the political elections, between McCain, and Obama. As I was reading this article I was wondering what was going on because I don't know to much about the elections. Then once I started to get into the article I started to get mad because when they said that "McCain will argue that, in a time of economic crisis, Obama will raise taxes and spending and "Ill make our economy worse." I was like what? are you kidding me!! They obviously didn't get all of there facts right because McCain is making us pay for a Ferris wheel in who knows where. I don't think we need a Ferris wheel that is the stupidest this I have ever heard. When they said that Obama will make the economy worse, that made me even madder because McCain is making us build stupid little things for no reasons. We shouldn't be building anything right now because of the economy. After I read this article it really change my thinking about all of this stuff because at first i didn't care about the elections. Then i realized that elections are a big deal, and that we all should be up to date with all of this stuff because picking the wrong president can effect the world. Even if you cant vote yet, you should still know what is going on with the candidates because it is a good conversation starter, and its pretty interesting once you understand what is happening.

Tweeting a Funeral?

by:Rocky Mountain News
This article is about how three people died by a car accident, and they will be remembered by the way they died because they were just sitting there at an ice cream place when all of a sudden a car crashes right in front of them. What I don't really understand about this article is why is it called "tweeting" if they only used that word once? I felt so bad as I was reading this article because totally innocent people died all because some wacky bimbo crashed right into them. I feel so bad for their family's because they have losted a loved one. When they said these people are being remember because the way they died I think its really nice, but its still kind of unfair to all the other people that have died because they don't have the way they died being remembered. But when I thought about this article I was thinking what if the people that died didn't want everyone to be talking about this? What I always have never figured out is why didn't we hear about this? Why do we only hear about the stuff that goes on in Colorado? I personally think that there should be a channel on TV that tells about what happens all around the world. I think it would still be good to know what is going on around the world, even if you don't need to. Even though this kind of stuff can get boring it is still a good thing to know because one you would be informed and two it is always a good conversation topic. I'm not really sure what I learned from this article. I think that the only thing I learned is that some people died by a crash. I don't really think i have learned much from this article because all this article has left me is full of confusion.

The Large Collider Rap

By:Karl Fisch

As I was reading this article I was wondering whats the whole point of this blog was about, and why is it on here? Then when I finished reading and watching it I finally understood the whole point to that blog. What i think the message of the blog was, is that you can learn lots of the same stuff at school but in a better fun way because since it was kind of cheesy you pay attention more, and at the same time you learn the same things by watching that video then doing it the boring way in class. If we all had videos of the topic we are learning, in a fun and cheesy way then I'm sure everyone would learn the topic faster because we can remember the cheesy stuff better. After i finish the rap song video I read the blog and he said that he thinks that sometimes we take all of this for granted and i agree with his opinion because we are all to lazy to look up these videos to help us remember things, and learn it in a way that is very easy. I think if teachers play these videos in class then they could take a brake and relax while the class is watching a quick clip on the lesson. Also even if a student is not at school they can still look up a video that is focus on the subject they need to learn, and by doing that they can learn the subject easily without distraction because I know when I have to study i always get distracted because its so quiet and boring that why i get off topic. Also If you watched a video you could focus on the basic of the subject. I find all of Mr. Fisch blogs very helping because they make you think a lot, like how the world is and what the things we are taking for granted. I think that Mr. Fisch is a very wise person.

Chinese milk powder contaminated with melamine sickens 1,253 babies

by Jane Macartney and Sophie Yu, in Beijing

This article is about how the powder milk in china is contaminated with melamine, and made 1,253 babies get sick. As i was reading the article i was really shocked that they knew the milk was making babies sick and they didn't do anything about it. When i was done reading this article i was wondering if anyone sued the company cause it was in there product and they knew about it, and didn't do anything about it. I don't understand why they would keep selling their product when it was contaminated, cause they know that the word would go around and people would talk and stop buying their product. Also they just made a big publicity issue now that they didn't fix there product, so that ended up hurting them a lot. I always never understood why babies had to drink powder milk anyways? Aren't they suppose to drink milk that comes from there moms? If people knew that the powder milk has been contaminated then why didn't they start buy it from other company's that made powder milk? Was it the only brand of powder milk that was contaminated or was it in every other powder milk place? Why did babies back then not get sick from the powder milk? Did they always use the same ingredients? After I read this article i was wondering why the owners of the company didn't think about all of this stuff before they put it out on the market. This article really made me think about a lot of stuff now like can i really trust the things i eat or drink now? And it made me wonder what other stuff that i use or ate is contaminated. Now that i think about it can i really trust the things that come from China? First we find out that all of their electronics and toys are contaminated with lead and now this? These are the things we have to think about before anything else happens.

Local firefighters climb to remember the ones we lost on Sept. 11

Local firefighters climb to remember the ones we lost on Sept. 11
By: Abigail Curtis

This article that I read really warmed up my heart because firefighters from all over Colorado and even Cheyenne, Wyoming came to the quest building today to honor the ones we lost. I think that it is very nice that the firefighters did that because those brave people lost their life’s to try and save lots of other people. Now that I am more mature I understand why we take time on this day to remember all the life’s that had died and all the people that risked their life’s to save others. I think that this article kind of connects to what we do in class because like the firefighters that risked their life’s to try and save others so they can go on and meet there life goals. All of our teachers teach us so that way we are prepared for the future, and so we could meet our goals in life. This article really had me think about a lot of stuff like how the teachers do a lot for us and that we just don’t care or we just don’t know that they are doing it. Also what this article had me think about is that we all have each others backs even though we don’t know each other. After I read this article and thought about the whole topic I just realized now why this country is called the United States, its called the United States because we are all united as one. Just because this stuff did not happen in our hometown or state we still try to help each others through all of this cause like I said we are united as one. I’m glade that people write articles because they tell you a lot about what is happening in this world.
